Design and Build Support
We design with the Contractor’s needs in mind, frequently achieving savings of up to 65% on frames and foundations.
Our design for this light aircraft factory was the winning bid out of five, being 25% to 50% leaner than the rest of the field.

Value Engineering
Savings of 65% on frames and 75% on foundations are not uncommon and can transform the program and profit margin. The pictured warehouse (215,000 ft² with 25x30m unobstructed bays) was reduced from 1756 tonnes to 675 tonnes of structural steel but designed for tropical storm (cyclonic) winds.
Our VE skills have been honed over many years both in the UK and in Asia. We apply the same principles to frames, foundations, drainage (including storm attenuation), and trmporary works. On a small facade retention frame for 4 terraced houses in the Kings Cross area we saved the Contractor in excess of £50,000; our fee was less than £1k.
Contractor-designed alternative (VE)
When submitting a compliant bid our Constractor clients can add a Contractor Designed Alternative where savings can be offered on a tighter design, possibly with a different concept, improving the bid hit rate.

We routinely advise on / design works for tunnelling, trenching, underpinning, and face support in bad ground, de-watering, and ground treatment.

Method statements
We can assist contractors of all sizes with health and safety requirements, and to ensure structural safety, by producing clear and unambiguous (often illustrated) method statements which feed directly into the RAMS required for structural operations.
